he uses competition guns and a smaller load than you might use out on a range I'm guessing; from the sound of it. pop pop pop, instead of the usual bang bang bang from a .45
that may explain the difference you see with this video. Cause shooting is a lot harder than he makes it looks.

* competion gun- check. But, it's not a knock on him to use a high quality firearm. Using good equipment makes any sport easier.
* smaller/lighter load- debatable but a bit accurate. His Para 1911 chambered in .40 S&W will sound dif. But the load is heavier than factory 9mm and mil ball.
* shooting is a lot harder than he makes it look- certainly. But, TJ has fired (by his est.) 1.7 million shots. He's a professional.
