The 2 coolest dogs in the world! Brains AND beauty! We ran out of tricks to teach them because they learn so fast. Alicia is a purebred Akita with an awesome sweet personality but guards our house like no other breed of dog. It takes about 10 visits before she will become your friend. She get's along with some dogs but does't like them coming to our house! Mandy is a border collie/lab/pitt bull cross. She is friendly with every dog and every person, anywhere. She is soooo smart. Her body is one big solid muscle. We have had both dogs since they were small 2-3 month old puppies. We got Mandy as we were on vacation at Bridge Lake, BC about 8 years ago. We rented a cabin for a week and took our boat for fun. While up there, our cabin neighbor was a lady with a small puppy. She said she had to take the puppy back to the pound because she just moved and the new place does not allow pets. Well, it wasn't long before we were taking the puppy. Came home from the lake with no fish, but a puppy!
Alicia the akita, was given to us as a present from a friend of ours who has several Akita's. She was so small and furry at 8 weeks old. But so cute! Both dogs got along great and love each other like sisters. These 2 are special dogs. Very different than a normal "dog". They dont rip food out of your hands as you feed them. They take it so gently. They would never use the bathroom indoors. They don't take things or lick things on the table. They only bark if someone arrives. They sleep 8 hours straight through the night (on their own human single bed) and wait until we wake up before coming to the side of the bed to greet us. And so much more. They keep very clean as they are indoor dogs. Some people have said that our dogs are way more behaved than most people they know! Our dogs have stayed in many high end hotel rooms including Holiday Inns executive king jaccuzi suites and Whistler condo's.
