I think he was just leveling because there are people out there with massive egos who's self esteem depends on Rick Wakeman being an incredible piano player ever. There are sites where people drool over him and call everyone else a simpleton who does not listen to him. Welcome to the fantasy which was Progressive Rock. He was good but once again he was rock god, not a properly trained player. In the classical/jazz world he would be just an average joe.
