My father actually just got out of the hospital from hyponatremia. He wasn't drinking distilled water, but drinking mass quantities of water in a short amount of time will still flush out your solutes. We came home from a vacation and found him on the floor completely delerious. He wouldn't respond to any stimulation except for touch. He was in the hospital for five days, but he's on the road to recovery now. He has severe memory problems now, and can't think very clearly because of water.

i'm sorry for that. drinking enough water and drinking a mass volume of water are far different. in a case, an ecstasy addict, consumed 20 litres of water within 24 hours. the over consume of water swells his body cells including the brain cells and tissues. as the result,his brain burst and caused fatality. may be the same thing happened to your father but fortunately it didn't come to that limit. god save his life. the solution is,if you get very thirsty,drink warm water,little by a little.

I am a new breast cancer patient and plan to have reconstruction surgery on July 21, now I am really confused. The surgeon's and all the women I have met this month at my support group have recommened breast implants.I take supplements and eat organic and never wanted plastic surgery but I am only 41 and feel if I don't do it at the same time of the mastectomy I will regret it.

While although I applaud that you found the trigger for your illness, you are not cured by removing your implants. As a "scientist" you should know, that removing the trigger doesn't cure you. You still have those diseases. And I agree with most posts here, telling women NOT to get implants is very ignorant on your part. Just because you had the problems doesn't mean everyone will. Funny more than informative.

I don't want to be rude, but something tells me she's not a scientist. The word "symtom" in the end caught my eye. I really don't think scientists would misspell. But who am I to know the truth, anyway? That doesn't mean I deny that she had problems and suffered and finally took some steps to regain her health. As for her condition, it is a special one that caused problems, so not a reason to tell others not to do implants, but rather to test for this genetic predisposition, just in case.

While there can be complications, today's implants are much safer than those of the past. If you follow your surgeons instructions you should be fine. I've seen patients that once their stitches are removed they never return for their post-op follow-ups. Show up for you follow-ups, follow the instructions and call your surgeon if anything seems out of the ordinary and you will be fine.

Sounds like all of your family and friends are nutjobs for getting breast implants. That's a low self esteem issue. It means you have mental problems. The size of the breast is not of biological importance. It is a secondary sex organ. You and your stupid family are crazy! You all have low self worth and a pitiful existence. How dare any one say anything about bad about this woman. I have been sick for two years because of saline implants. doctors do not tell you you could get chemical poisening from alumminun, tin, platnum and silicone itself...they are not safeee. its a foreign object your macrophages are attacking 24 hours a day. we the patients were never informed. the fda could go to hell. they have been covering this up for years. do your homework

Thank you, this was very informative. I have been thinking of having implants for many years and especially seeing that most of my female friends have had it done and they say it's the best thing they have done.... I'm now worried and not sure what to do!!..I'd love to have this done but I really don't want to risk my health!!
One question: Could it be that by any chance the type of the implants you had were faulty? Why there are no serious action is taken to stop these surgeries? Thank you.

sooratee2008, there isn't any action against these surgeries because only a SMALL number of people have a problem with the procedure. She just explained that she has a GENETIC reason for reacting to the implant like she did. I know many women who have the implants and have never had any problems with them.
DON'T get this done, if you already THINK it will go wrong. Avoid it, because should it go wrong, you will not be able to deal with all the stress, so it isn't worth the risk for you.
