Much better written music? Have you ever listened to a Hendrix record? Axis: Bold As Love, or Electric Ladyland are increadible albums that paved the way for artists in the studio and out. He was an excellent song writer, that's why we still talk about him...
And on the topic of Sgt. Pepper the album is ridicules, aside from having some of The Beatles most memorable songs do you have any idea how many recording techniques were invented in the making of this album?

Hendrix is untouchable. He really felt the music, much more than others.
I always felt like Dylan And Hendrix should've worked together: Bob the lyrics and Jimi the guitar (look at Jimi's covers of Bob). A guy like jimi was just getting started, and he was too harassed by everyone to do what he should have done.
I believe that out of everyone of the 27years death club, Jimi had the most he still had to show us. Because people recognize this his albums are up there with the greats.

He was more musical in the original sense of the word than practically all of his contemporaries, and that's saying something.

The Beatles were naturally gifted, came up with melodies, rhythms, harmonies, chords to fit their ideas, and played what made sense to them in terms of what they were trying to accomplish. When experts marvel at how a song can contains passages in 4/4, 3/4, 5/4, etc., and "strange" modes like the mixolydian, it's all after the fact. I don't think they were aware of any of this and just went with what felt right.

Have you ever seen a note-for-note transcription of a Jimi Hendrix solo? It's like, who could possibly think of this? Well, he didn't. He just played, and someone else later figured out how to put it on paper and took note of its significance in terms of music theory.

dont get me wrong hendrix is a briliant guitarist espescially for his time, but alot of people in my generation ( im still in my teen years) just drop name him because threy dont know any other equally great guitarists such as page, beck, (early) clapton etc.

hendrix was brilliant because of his musica, he was such an artist and made of guitar his third arm. So, the best guitarist, in my opinion, is not who plays with a great technic but the one who plays with feeling...is just an opinion ;)
