I am 98% certain this movie was based on true events from a town in Idaho. Aside from being LOL funny the filming of the country side was beautiful. Anyone not seeing the humor watched the film with the wrong expectations. On a more serious note genetic alteration in farming on plants, animals, etc. to produce more profit "feed more people" may not create rabid sheep but could, one day come back to bite us all in the preverbal ass.
