Didn't cook there food? Start getting your history from historian and not ministers and you can avoid looking like a fool. Second it is not an accurate history as the Egyptians never mention enslaving the jews, many of the parables were not added until the 11th and 12th centuries, and Mosesnever witnessed creation the flood or the tower of Babel.Not to mention that no one has ever found the enormous temple of Solomon or the evidence of a dominant Jewish empire. Not history alagory.

looking like a fool? But you didn't give me any evidence that I was wrong, you just simply called me a fool...and many biblical scholars majored in secular history. That was an extremely weak and shitty rebuttal.

That is why its an introduction, it introduces the subjects to people that aren't familiar with this.
I do agree that it is boring and wasteful TO ME, but not to everyone.
That said, if someone new to the subject watched this and felt the introduction was a waste, I'd be much more inclined to say it was a waste.

This man knows there is no God based on children suffering. Failure there.
Is atheism better than Christianity?
He states that he knows truth to arrive at the answer.
We shall look over his words to see if it is all truth like the Bible.
Who could predict Zechariah 12:10 and how would you explain it?
Why does he figure that Jesus is only "love" as that is boxing God too small?
To attribute all to God is too much though.

Wow, this guy was really a former preacher? He is no exegete. Listening to him quote Bible passages and formulate his arguments is like listening to someone scratch a chalkboard. There is no coherence here whatsoever. I especially like his passing comment that Hitler was an evil Christian. Did Hitler ever claim to be a Christian? As far as I know he didn't. I hope that later on in the debate he will present some sort of rational basis for absolute ethics in a atheistic system.

Part I- I don't know why any Christian would waste their time debating! They will never persuade anyone by their own wisdom, knowledge or speech! Paul who wrote 2/3 of the NT said the Gospel should NOT be preached by word, or by persuasion, but by the POWER of God! What has God done in the Christians life that he or she can testify of God's POWER that is true, and life changing to others? The Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit) is what changes a person.

Refer to the Hitler quote posted by Calvin for Christ 3 months ago. I know Hitler also made statements like, "compassion is a device thought of by the Jews."
I have read some of Mein Kempf. If he made any passing comments about Christianity in a positive sense, it is still absurd and irrational to try to use that to claim that he embraced Christianity. Anyone with common sense understands that the ideas promoted in that book contradict the very essence of Christianity.

Well, these debates are more for the people who are about to lose their faith. People like Dan Barker raise great questions that many religious people deal with. People like Dinesh just try to help legitimize the belief that there's a divine zombie who is his own father, who can give me eternal life if I telepathically ask him for forgiveness, to remove a curse put on man because a woman was tricked by a talking snake into eating fruit from a magical tree.

what i actually like about Dinesh is that when he makes a statment it is ALWAYS followed by "let me give you an example..." and you are correct. debates like this can go on for ever. i pick Dinesh as the winner because I happen to share the same world view as he does. no matter what side of the fence on happens to sit on it requires faith.

people that spout bible verses as if it gives credence to their 'truth' claims amaze me. the bible has some great quotes and wise words, many of which pre-existed (see confucius et al). look, i could quote loftus, or dawkins chapter and page, but all that does is make me assume an air of false superiority. what you need to do is seriously answer the inerrancy, issues, problem of evil, trinity nonsense, and contradictions that the bible offers. a personal, loving god does not exist.

God has inspired and providentially preserved HIS Word perfect in the Bible via HIS promises. It is thus sacred, infallible, and final athority.
AFTER you receive Christ, God will teach you many things.
You'll then know Christ.
However, you'll not know all that HE knows.
This can be irritating at times for the loaded-with-limitations humans.

I dont believe for one minute that Dan Barker really does not believe in God. He is upset with God because he cannot shape christ into the image that he wants and he did not have the courage to stand on his faith. Now he is a blinded tool being used by the enemy.
Dan you cannot say God does not exist because you dont have the strength to stand on his word.
God is not a magician he has given you his word either you believe him or believe man.
