Video Description:
In Philadelphia, the irresponsible and selfish Maggie is a drunken easy woman having sex with many men. Her sister Rose is the opposite, responsible lawyer but needy and having complex, compulsively buying shoes to relief her frustrations. Maggie is expelled from her father home by her stepmother, and Rose lodges her sister in her apartment. When Maggie has one night stand with Rose's boyfriend, Rose sends her sister away. She finds letters and postcards from her missing grandmother Ella Hirsch that she believed had died that lives in a retirement compound in Florida hidden in her father's drawer, and without any option, she decides to travel to meet Ella. With Ella, Maggie changes, becoming another woman and improving the relationships in her family.

this movie made me cry. i cried coz of how the bonding between the 2 sisters grew and how maggie(cameron diaz)changed from being a promiscous gurl to a gurl hu grew closer 2 her relatives & old ppl.also she tried 2 read, she beleive in her self(thnx 2 the old man :])& her bond with her sista grew stronger.she proves 2 ppl u can changed at any age,if u try.i love this movie..it touched me :D xxxx

I just saw watched this movie recently, and it was incredible. Maybe the movie was a little slow at the beginning, but this movie got to me, and I could not stop watching it. I don't care if people label this as a chick flick, it was so enjoyable to watch. To sit back and watch Maggie and Rose's characters grow and change in this movie was riveting. I really enjoyed this movie and how all the dysfunctional behaviors unraveled, and then how people grew and changed. Great performances by all!

This movie was so good. I didn't seem that coming! It hits you out of nowhere when you think it will be a boring, sucky, B flick! LOVED IT! It made me cry. I have 3 older sisters and our relationships are very strained and difficult. Real tear-jerker. My friend saw this 5x - in the theatres! She loved it that much! GREAT MOVIE!

Rose, een juriste die haar zaakjes goed voor elkaar heeft, wordt keer op keer geconfronteerd met het gedrag van haar zusje Maggie, die het leven niet zo serieus neemt en er altijd op rekent dat ze terug kan vallen op haar oudere zus. Als Maggie het bonter dan ooit maakt en Rose besluit haar niet meer te helpen, lijken ze voor altijd uit elkaar te groeien. Gelukkig blijken ze een oma te hebben die haar best doet om de zussen weer bij elkaar te brengen.
