Indeed the MG-42 had the highest rate of fire in W.W.II nothig less that 1,200 rpm not 12,000 as the video said.. Nevertheless, the MG42 had one of the worst problems in accuracy. His antesesor the MG's32-34 has less rate but they where more accurate...

you should google for "hein severloh". he shot about 3000 americans with his mg 42 and his two k 98 at omaha beach in the normandie after he got the order not to give up and hold the position.he fired all the ammonition and ran away.when he was a POW he didnt tell anyone.very interesting story.

Nice. It was a good video, but I have problems with it. First, it IS the best gun, no arguing. Second, its rate of fire was actually between 1,029 and 1,128 rounds per minut, not 12,000. But to put that in perspective the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon fires at arond 750 RPM. Also, the SAW uses 5.56x45 millimeter amuniton while the MG 42 uses 7.92x59 millimeter amunition.
