He outwitted & greatest name in politics after being 30 points down in Iowa.
He overcame accusations that he's a terrorist muslim here to destroy AM-MUR-CUH
He respected the US enough to pick a QUALIFIED VP instead of McCain who said, "quick find someone with boobs & buy her expensive skirts!"
He won states that nobody thought would ever turn blue & did it in a landslide.
If he doesnt have your respect now its because you dont want him to have it.

Obama's campaign staff should get most of the credit for his campaign success - to include this scripted speech in Berlin that he didn't write. Obama still has to earn my respect. He still hasn't done anything really except be a highly successful career politician and a smooth talking stage man. This isn't saying he'll be a bad president - he may be the greatest thing since shoe laces... only time will tell. But I think that you and others really want him to be great... to live up to his hype.

Yeah alonajames: Obama has to earn my respect - and you are an ate-up black man (or woman) and I won't conform to your ideals that are based on nothing. It is YOU that doesn't make a difference. I've served 20 yrs in the military, raised 4 children, and I teach high school. I really think it is pathetic the way blacks and others so blindly clutch onto Obama like he's some kind of messiah. He is no god - except to you and your kind - and I think he may let you down the farthest. I hope not.

What's worst is the way most Obama supporters take it so personal if someone like me doesn't like him. Is this guy your personal savior? He's a politician - don't forget that. He's not going to solve the problems in your or my life. He seems like a nice guy in many ways - but there is really something about him that gives me a big case of the creeps - white or black (he's both and neither). I actually think blacks will be let down worst of all by him - just call it a premonition or feeling.

EVERY candidate has speech writers. However, he wrote most of his speeches INCLUDING this one.
For those who still don't want to give him credit for his success, read his book. You will see, everything he did strategy wise, he outlined in his first book.
Perhaps McCain's people should have read it.

Obama is amazing, thank you to everybody that made it possible for him to become president. I am so proud of this election. America is definitely a absolutely great country to be a part of. Thank you a gain to everybody who helped with this campaign. Thank you for trusting your gut and trusting Obama. I know he will be an extraordinary president. mr feurzug, obama has to earn my respect as well...as a liberal democrat, i'm estatic that obama is president but he is NOT a miracle worker!! he has at least 4yrs to make a dent in american society. if he doesn't, we(the nation) can vote in somebody else. all of "our kind" don't wholly clutch to obama. he's just like every other president, he'll have to produce results or get voted out! remember, more whites voted for obama than blacks. eight yrs of bush was enough! change IS needed.

Thanks tonusion - but to argue against Obama now is a waste of time as he is already in power. So I see no sense in upsetting Obama supporters by arguing that he is bad, false, evil... etc... time will tell. For me, the important thing is to know the Lord Jesus Christ - as my true "Leader".
