Oh what a hitter! I used to see him in person when the Cards would come in to Ebbets Field and the Polo Grounds. Number 6 was a one man wrecking crew especially how he owned the Schaefer Scoreboard at Ebbets. There'll never be another Card to touch him, including Albert Pujols.

I wish I could find some old film footage of the St. Louis Browns. There weren't any teams in Dixie or on the West Coast back in the early '50s and I remember my dad saying he was a Browns fan. Most southerners liked either the Browns or Cardinals back then.

Yes, thank you. Maris played for the Cleveland Indians in 1957 and part of 58, and then for the lowly KC A's in the latter half of 58 and all of 1959. He joined the Yanks in '60
