Lyle Alzado played for the 1977 Broncos, who later played against the Cowboys in Super Bowl XII. That's how they qualified for the tournament.

since your a Raiders fan, let me tell you this now. I split their 70's team in half based on the ten years they won 3 Super Bowls (1976, 1980, 1983) 1976-1985 as the '80's Raiders........while the 60's Raiders embody the years 1966-1975. I got a lot of nasty complaints for leaving the '70's Raiders' out, when it was only a little miscommunication.

Your Raiders took a huge dive after the super bowl, so their best stretch was from 2000-2002.....only 3 years.
The Rams were dominant from 1970-1979.

Yes, the Raiders from 00-02 were great, and I will be the first ONE to say they were totally cheated TWICE: Goose and the Tuck!
They were actually one of the best 8-8 teams in 1999 as well.

well, my goal with this tournament was to prevent a situation where the 75 Steelers would play the 78 Steelers etc, so that's why I based them on 10 year era's.
If the 00's Steelers play the 70's Steelers, I have no problem with that. Just a bad luck of the seed for you Steelers fans.
However, Shannon Sharpe is in a difficult situation in round 2. Is there 2 Shannon Sharpe's on the field? Does he change uniforms at halftime?

I think it is all relative. I'm not matching up teams against the 1941 Bears who were all like 6'2" and under. I know the players of today are bigger and stronger than yesterday, but the point is to show how dominant a team was during their existence.
