| Totally new every year? Hello? Look at pictures of a 55, 56 & 57. Now tell me what's different except the turn signals and tail lights? Answer: 55 has squared wheel well openings, 56 & 57 they are scallop shaped, 56 & 57 the gas filler is hidden behind a tail light, 57 has dagmars and a modest (compared to the Ford and Chrysler products of the same era) tail fin. Totally new every year? No way. Beautiful styling that still looks great today? YES. |

| No one said anything about mileage - just time - considering rust and etc. I have a BMW running at 118,000 miles - and a junky Chevy Caprice at 256,000 miles - I was referring to how cars were made of heavier steel and better craftsmanship at this time - just like German cars are still to this day. As for the 100,000 mile engine rebuild during this time - that is correct - but that isn't the entire car. :P |

| This was the revolutionary car that changed every car that came after it. Many options became standard and old engineering became modernized. The 55 has more in common with modern cars than it did with the 54 (that's the positive qualities of course). I have one and it always turns heads. Working with brand new cars I'd still take my 55 over any of them, as I drive home everyday without any problems, and if it did I could at least fix it myself. |
