Yesterday 2 \15\08 at the Kentucky state High School Wrestling tournament I made it further than any other visually impaired student did at my school in along time. I didn't make it to the last day but I did ok anyways see Kentucky school for the Blind Win Wresting Conference after 13 years. Check out N.C.A.S.B. Conference 2008 (Kentucky Wrestlers)

Good going, Dan. In PA, we never hear anything about visually impaired wrestlers at the PIAA tournaments.

ya dude you're so right the white kid especially looks to be at least 125 - 130 minimum ... his legs are HUGE and the other kid isnt as muscular but is extremely lanky.

I firmly believe that all serious high school wrestlers should wrestle/train freestyle in the off season. It truly does refine your technique, and I believe that it increases your intensity!
For those of you living in the Baltimore area, you can train with him. The guy is not a Dave Shultz "I don't know why I'm so good type" either. He really knows the ins and outs of the sport.
By the way, did anyone catch that the announcer keeps calling Cary "Gary?"

I should show this to all my underclassmen teammates - that anyone who works their ass off can be a state champ, freshman, first-year wrestler, senior, whatever. That's great he did it last year. How'd he do this year?

back in the day guys would lose A TON of weight and think nothing of it.....now a days, you are not allowed to drop so much weight....it was nothing way back when to drop 30 pounds before the season was over....very unhealthy, but that was the way it was.....

I watched Kolat at a Lock Haven tourney--pre-season, he wrestled in the high school and college age groups....no kidding....he got called to one mat, wiped up the kid quick, sprinted to the other mat he was just called to and wiped up the college aged guy, it was amazing....he was truly a machine...and he did his backflip escape thing.....
