Estelle is very right...a lot of talented black artists have gone to the states to seek success in their music. The British seem to glorify pop, appearance and white people singing soul music who has done nothing but imitate and steal our sense of style and singing style to promote theirs. estelle is great but she cant slag of british soul..its nothing to do with colour..the music she makes now is very american influenced! and people like duffy are cleary influenced by northen soul..which is a black sound but a very british (black/white) movement...it angers me how alot of black british youth think that there culture is connected to black american culture..and estelle is no different..

Black music is more popular in the US because blacks are over 10% of the population there.
Yes black people do make better soul singers but the honkies (I'm white so that's allowed) these days make more traditional soul tunes and many whites don't want a Kanye West verse tagged on their songs

She is pissed at the fact she isnt doing as well as Amy winehouse and other artists like her. Have you been out in a city & seen the massive amount of musicians that are truly truly talented & never get a shot at even the small time let alone the big time? If the music industry was as racist as she portrays believe me Estelle being the mediocre performer she is would not get anywhere!
Im a musician & ive been trying to get my music signed up, as well as working to get local bands & friends signed up. It doesnt happen, its nothing to do with race or talent,simply how marketable you are
