Report from KUTV (www.kutvfreshair.com/podcast/m4v/LBBI_XPowerSaver.m4v) debunking the XPower Energy Saver device that I have seen being sold on the internet.
Edit: Seems like there is a lot of hate for the truth. Simple physics doesn't lie. A lot of the negative comments about the video are from people who have bought (suckers) or are selling this (pyramid scheme). Why? Because no one likes to be shown up!
Anyway, I've seen bigger caps in car stereo applications.

it seems roclin is the one showing a lack of knowlege, remove the cover of any traditional fluoresecent strip light and see what's connected across the power line, do you recognize a striking similarity with a certain Snake Oil product? (not mentioning any names)
Pyramid schemes make themselves 'just legal' by ensuring a 'product' of some kind is involved, often this 'product' has very low intrinsic value, such as detergent (e.g. amway or kleeneze).

If one really wants to debunk this, we would run two representative identical metered loads, one with & one without the 'product' then try to see any difference.
It seems the TV program is there to help these 'snake-oil' product marketing schemes get noticed, so that the general public can improve their bull-shit detectors. All that is happening when hopefuls defend the claims is joe public learns to see bullshit better when he sees it. So really people like roclin are doing us all a favor

I tell you what the REAL con the power companies are doing, they have been doing it since Westinghouse and Tesla, they all do this scam and they don't care one iota about it. This is it: all the current they provide you, they get it all back, every drop, it is a scam. Alongside every wire carrying current to you, another wire is next to it and that runs all the way back to the power company. So all the electrons you pay for, the power company gets back and they sell them again, that is a scam.

Now if we reduce the voltage or the amperage then we reduce the watts right? Yes, no trick here.
Watch the Xpower demo if you haven't. The amperage is dropped in usage on the source side but not the load side. Voila! Savings!

If we reduce the amperage usage by 2 amps we get...

Bill made a few mistakes like just plugging it in. There is actually a little thought that needs to be put into plugging in the Xpower. This technology has been used for decades in commercial applications. Bill brings it to a university and Greg didn't? Xedia has numerous engineers and electricians very qualified and even US government agencies are purchasing numerous Xpowers for various applications.Why would they spend their money on them?
