His voice was so awesome back in the day. Real unique. I was so happy that Tom Petty was given the opportunity to play the Super Bowl half time show. He has been one of the most underrated and unappreciated musical artists for the last 15 years. Almost forgotten about. He deserved this time on the biggest stage for the whole world to see.

Once again fantastic! I was just home from work..very tired..turned on the superbowl..when tom and the Heartbreakers came on got my energy back..danced and sang along!

can i just say, never really liked american football always seen it as a bit boring with being from england...but OMG i loved last nights match that was awesome!! i decided to support the NJ jets just cause they were the underdogs my heart was in my mouth at the end of the game! well decent show america!

Petty and the boys hit it out of the park. Is it okay to use that idiom? Yeah, I know.. wrong sport... Anyhow, the band sounded great. This band's performance during halftime reminded all of us who might have forgotten the power that this band can generate. When Lynch is playing his ass off, Tom is right there with amazing rhythm guitar skills. I'll put T.P. up there with the best 12-string electric guitar players. Awesome performance by an underrated band. They're still vital, folks!

I was sceptical about Tom Petty playing the half time show, but he was brilliant. For a UK viewer this was about 1am so we were pretty tired but this definitely woke me up!

great performance from tom and the heartbreakers. i agree....this is one underrated band. i was also singing along and dancing in front of the tv...what a great evening! btw, some moron on msnbc actually thought tom petty was lip-synching the performance...what planet was he on? this reviewer also suggested more "relevant" music...like hip hop???!! i'd love to see bruce springsteen as next year's half time performance.

does anybody know the guitar that Mike Campbell, lead guitar, is using in this song? i know its not mosrite, but tea headstock is unclear. the headstock looks familiarly like a mosrite though or a fullerton- or somewhere in between there. so if anyone has any ideas, let me know. btw, im talking about the double neck.
