The Wii control is what connects to the bluetooth receiver and you need the WiiWhiteboard program John made in which you can get from his website, this programs taps into the wii control's infrared camera which tracks infrared LED's.
No I have not done this on a laptop but on my desktop, its the same thing.

awesome! it worked! i used a tv remote for the pen, it doesn't work as great because it blinks instead of staying on solid. also, it takes a lot of battery out of the wiimote
