Yet they did get a bit of crap from tennis purists for the Williams sisters branching off into other avenues. Like the fact they both have their own clothing line and are considered celebrities in their own right. Basically, they are just haters.

That's so true. I remember watching Serena play in the US Open and John Mcenroe and the other commentators were actually saying how good it was for the Williams sisters to have outside interests. That it basically made them love tennis more (because they weren't playing 24/7 and making it seem too much like a chore) and made them hungry to win.
