When Brett Favre finally called it a career earlier this off-season, he certainly gave the impression that he wasn't having any second thoughts about riding off into the sunset.
But almost a month later, Favre still hasn't taken the final step to make his retirement official. He hasn't filed his retirement papers with the NFL Management Council

The jury is still out on that one. Favre formally retired on TV and several weeks later announced that he wanted to come back. The Packers (Thompson) sent a plane down to Mississippi to get him. Favre refused to return to Green Bay saying that he'd decided to retire (again). Favre announced again recently that he wanted to play. Thompson and McCarthy had given the job to Aaron Rogers. I'm a Favre fan but do not know who to believe. In Wisconsin the sportscasters lean towards Thompson's version.

If you look at this 30 years from now I think so. Even 10 years is a long time. How much do you hear about how amazing Dan Marino or John Elway were? Marino held most of those passing records and no one really talks much about him. Elway held a few and won two super bowls 10 years ago. To me Favre is just as bad as Terrell Owens, it's all about him. He THRIVES on attention.
