that makes no sense ... ( 3 weeks ago by apocalypselat3r)
that makes no sense, but of course they were paying homage to a lot of the American southern black musicians of the first half of the 20th century. The rolling stones did the same. its no crime. i love equally the beatles and the afro-american origin of the music.
however the black music on the radio these days makes me want to hurt a lot of people.
Well, I knew ... ( 3 weeks ago by deepvoodoo)
Well, I knew someone would respond to that. It's actually just a joke. See, every time someone while listens to rap, they're accused of "trying to be black." And yet, here's ol' Paul McCartney doin' Little Richard, with all the "wooo"s.
no i absolutely ... ( 3 weeks ago by apocalypselat3r)
no i absolutely hear you, but... ok this is going to sound racist.. but.. when paul was paying homage to the blacks music it was awesome because music by afro americans from 1910 to 1960-something was exceptional. now their music is sorta crap save a few living legends (although they are sadly falling RIP Bo Diddley) so when people listen to rap i just call them dumb.
It's not racist to ... ( 3 weeks ago by thumbsaloft)
It's not racist to tell the truth, most of todays black music is total garbage.
Whatever happened to black bands? Think about it, how many good young black bands are there out there these days.
Most of todays black youth have gotten away from playing real instruments. That's why I like groups like Mint Condition, The Roots, and Robert Randolph.

All I have to say ... ( 2 weeks ago by 1940semochild)
All I have to say is this: I'm black and I would much rather have Paul McCartney or the Beatles cover a black song, pay homage to black music, sample it, or have it infused in their music etc than an actual black person like 50 Cent do it...More specifically this is respect and I respect the Beatles (anyway)for doing it; if 50 or any other "rapper" were to do it, it would be disgraceful and frankly, offensive. Those people are exactly what makes black people/music look bad and stereotypical.
CONT- I also find ... ( 2 weeks ago by 1940semochild)
CONT- I also find it *extremly* ironic (if not hilarous) that the Beatles, Rolling were fucking British and still sounded more authentically black and the vast (sad) majority of black artists out right now and I don't think I need to name names...
ps for everyone complaining about the Beatles "doing" black music: the Supremes did a whole frickin ablum of Beatles covers (A Bit of Liverpool). So technically, did they rip of "white music" by doing it? Its called paying respects to the origional.
Damn that McCartney ... ( 2 weeks ago by HarryAtTheLocalPub)
Damn that McCartney is a fucking good bassplayer, you should hear him on "Old Brown Shoe"...
Well, it could be ... ( 2 weeks ago by lazrpo1nt3r)
Well, it could be the way that these are "remastered". When they put these on tape and DVD, they attempted to remove as much crowd noise as possible, most of which is in the high mids. This could also be where George's guitar would fall in to in the sound spectrum.

Yeah, I think ... ( 5 hours ago by daleroes)
Yeah, I think something went wrong with "black" music and it probably had to do with the music biz itself (the people who mainly run it). For those who are not flattered by imitation, take sorry consolation that this sort of incredible homage was short lived in pop music history. You're looking at what made the Beatles great. They never failed to acknowledge their debt to where the music came from and they say over and over in interviews that beneath all the hype, here's what they were proud of.
