Oh dear. I like Cat Power but this is awful. Complete murdering of a beautiful song. Nina Simone wasn't much better, she sounds like a whale. Best versions are the original by Sandy Denny and the new one by the wonderful Kate Rusby

What a mess and an insult to Sandy Denny, the original singer and writer of this song. What a terrible affected and pretentious rendition.
The mock angst performance was embarrassing. What was all that business of raising the hands off the keyboards about? Was it meant to be some kind of fake artistic or emotional impression of the understanding of the music and lyrics? A car wreck of a cover version.
