Former Texas Governor Ann Richards died Wednesday night after a six-month battle with cancer. She was 73 years old. Under the banner of promoting a "New Texas," Richards appointed more women and more minorities to state posts than any of her predecessors. We play an address by Richards speaking in 2004 and speak about her life with veteran Texas lawyer Sissy Farenthold.

Global warming a myth??? Every leading expert on the face of the earth agrees that global warming is a serious problem. Even the Bush administration agrees with this. There is no point to debate that. When it comes to gay rights, i don`t base my support to my sexual preference since i`m 100% straight. What about medicare for the poor? Why do you want to prevent poor people medical treatment? That`s pretty sick if you ask me.

Some people can`t afford medicare. Therefore the govnerment has to provide this for them. This is what i`m talking about. Medicare is well spent tax money, instead of paying for a useless war in Iraq. This is a moral issue. There are 40 mill americans without any insurance, somebody has to provide health care for them. We have to reform the system. The govnerment should pay for peoples health care.

By the way, i work for a living too, and i`m insured through my job. Every employee on my job is fully insured, even when he/she retires! But we have to care about the poor even if we`re well off.. As i said, this a moral issue.

As i said, i rest my case when it comes to global warming. Global warming is a real issue, and the U.S govnerment agrees with this. We need to reduce fossile fuels, and oil dependency. It`s shameful that America was the ONLY country that didn`t sign the Kyoto agreement.

Bush, is the"real"grand Texas woman in everything she did.I was in Europe when she had passed on and myself and a few other Texans I met in Europe,were in shock and wished we were in Austin to pay our respects to the "pride of Texas".
