Baa Baa Black Sheep (later syndicated as Black Sheep Squadron) is a TV series that aired on NBC from 1976 until 1978. Its premise was based on the experiences of USMC aviator Pappy Boyington and his World War II "Black Sheep Squadron."
The series was created and produced by Stephen J. Cannell. The opening credits read: "In World War II Marine Corps Major Greg 'Pappy' Boyington commanded a squadron of fighter pilots. They were a collection of misfits and screwballs who became the terrors of the South Pacific. They were known as the Black Sheep."

Wikipedia shows that (air victories):
WW I
Roy Brown (10), Canada, claimed to have shot down Richthofen - fake
Manfred von Richthofen (80), germany
Edward V. Rickenbacker (26), USA, best US-pilot
WW II
Erich Hartmann (352), germany
Hiroyoshi Nishizawa (87), japan
Richard I. Bong (40), USA, best US-pilot
Gregory "Pappy" Boyington (28), USA
and btw wikipedia is not a reliable source
I suggest to produce a film, showing the reality, not US-fiction.
USA won because of mass production of masses and endless masses of weapons and not because of 'heroes'. Heroes are sold in USA like ice cream or ant-aging cream. And if masses were not enough, more masses of weapons were supplied.
That strategy has one fault.....
I think the sucess of Wild Wild West is due to the perfect team him and Ross Martin made.
