yes i love the phantom of the opera, and the original but this version by david was wonderful- i liked how he took a song and changed it to make it like his style- it was an excellent performance!!!

He killed nothing. He actually brought some new life to the song; even though I love the musical, not everyone does; and this song was embraced by a new generation of Andrew Lloyd Webber fans. Good Job David!

I usually don't like when Andrew Lloyd Webber is modified. I rather enjoyed this. He masculinized a song written to be sung by Christine who is performing at the Paris opera. The song is about a woman whose man is off to war.

As far as I know, there is no sequel in the works. Andrew Lloyd Webber did write a song performed by Kiri Ti Kanawa at the end of his 50th birthday bash where stars who've made his work famous recordings all came back and reprised their roles. That song is called "The Heart Is Slow To Learn" which Andrew Lloyd Webber said it was in what he "would like to believe could be a continuation of the story of the Phantom of the Opera. I've heard nothing of the sort since then.

I know I heard a 15 second blip on the radio a few weeks ago. I am sure of it. Keep your eyes and ears peeled. I think it is going to happen. I for one believe that this genre of music is basically ignored by the main stream media. Unless you have your nose and eyebrow threaded with steel and carry a dog in a purse, you are basically old and unpopular. It is unfair.

i understand where you're coming from with this comment, but i'm glad to say that that isn't anywhere near true. i currently reside in northern virginia, and almost everyone in my high school despises most "dog-carrying" girls, and punk music, nose piercings, etc. are basically shunned.
broadway music is very big in high school, as a matter of fact.

and about david archuletas voice... my only problem with him is that he doesn't pay attention to the songs he sings: he's more interested in showing off his own voice then showing how beautiful some songs are.
im not saying hes a bad singer at all, he's very talented. his problem lied in lack of character.
