No matter what his "crime" this can only be described as abuse of power. I could not see if the person on the floor was giving active resistance to arrest rather than passive resistance, for which the police have non-lethal and tried and true methods to deal with. Obviously there was enough law enforcement to arrest and detain without first using incapacitating force and then giving "lawful orders" to justify further abuse.

What kind of education are UCLA students receiving? Did they forget to read 1984, or learn about the Gestapo in Nazi Germany back in high school?
It's a university library, he was probably doing research on a computer or just watching videos on YouTube like everyone else. No need to profile certain students and ask them for an ID. It's a backwards policy that does not enrich or enhance someone's education.

Criminally abusive behaviour by the police. They allow the situation to escalate so that they can zap a guy that is being restrained. Then expect him to stand up immediately after being zapped?!?!?!? This happens several times. I hope these officers were expelled from the police department and prosecuted.

the problem is how the police act the arrest. prob you can check law and staff to understand it was wrong .. not so hard ..

any court will rule that the officer was justifiable with his actions. the student was being defiant and resistive the the officer. the officer gave him more than one chance before using the taser. after that the student was still being a dick. it looks bad to the public eye but the cop was following his own rules.

I feel sorry for these cops..trying to do their job and you got the whole student body yelling at them trying to make them feel like shit. Not only are they trying to detain a suspect, they are probably worrying about being jumped from behind. Now I know why cops seem like pricks...because everybody treats them like one. This video truly sickens me.
