Republicans Lie About Kerry and Upset Our Troops when they lied about what Kerry meant when he said "stuck in Iraq"
Bush and other Republicans know damn well what they did with Kerry's speech. As Dick Armey said: "misconstrue what somebody said. You isolate a statement, you lend your interpretation to it and then feign moral outrage"
The ugly game was exposed in detail by Chris Matthews and Dick Armey:
MATTHEWS: Kerry was trashing Bush himself and Bush says, "Don't say those terrible things about my troops!"
ARMEY: Right.
MATTHEWS: So, this is a bit of theater orchestrated well by the White House. They have got the American Legion commander out there making a statement. They got him to do it. I'm sure -- I assume that most of these people did not read the whole statement of Kerry yesterday, but they are happy to jump on the quote they got.
ARMEY: A fundamental premise of politics is: We can make this work if people just never figure it out.
Think about what Former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-TX) admitted to here! We need to get as many people as possible to see this video because mainstream media played along with the Bush/Republican spin of what Kerry said.

Hey, it's just rethuglican used car salesmanship at work. At least he admits what anyone with a pair of open eyes has seen all along. They're just PR people, issues don't matter to them, the American public means nothing to them until there's an election, then roll out their huge PR machine. Oh, and also... I have a cousin STILL MIA in Vietnam. He was an Army Ranger LRRP. This is relevant to this movie because this very news story this film is about DROWNED OUT the story that maybe got a quick blurb about the soldier in Iraq who was being held captive.
The Iraqi leadership told Bush to get out, and Bush (not wanting a "scandal" before the elections) said "ok sure, screw that soldier". Then the Iraqi's danced in the streets. Think real hard about that.

I've seen the original full video, with complete comments. There IS no "alternate context". At face value, Kerry appears to be saying the undereducated go to Iraq. And his supporters there on site LAUGHED. Democrats, not Republicans, are the liars here for trying to claim "spin" on the opposing side.

If you really support the troops GO AND SERVE and see what really goes on behind the seen. Your party disappears and your race and sometimes your morals. In the military we were all GREEN and our political party became "AMERICAN!" This is easy, Mr. Kerry plainly stated "if you study hard...you can be successful, if not you get stuck in Iraq." I will concede that Mr. Bush has our troops in Iraq ("stuck" is debatable). His statement, however, indicates that the uneducated wind up in Iraq. Intent? Who knows? He did however insult the troops.

What military did you serve in? Yes, Mr. Kerry deserves a degree of respect for serving. But to say he has a lot of respect would be overstating it. In 20 years of service I'd have to say that support for democrats, in general, is a minority cause. Mr. Kerry said what he said.
