It's got nothing to do with the internet buddy. FOOTBALL is the most successful sport in the world. How many soccer players make 10 million dollars a year??? There you have it. Just because it isn't accepted world wide doesn't mean it's shit. Bring a rugby player or an aussie rules player into the NFL and they would get mauled period. The point of the pads is that NFL tackles (in general) are much more ferocious then any other sport.

I've watched rugby and aussie rules (not much but enough) and most of the time they look like their getting pantsed, the biggest hits are simply form tackles in the NFL. I'll give you this though, they tackle MUCH better, pure form tackles all the time.

The helmet to helmet penalty was put into effect in 2005. This hit was one of the reasons of why they created the rule. Very dangerous hit, but clean at the time.

no. Aussie players don't run 4.4 forty yard dashes while also bench pressing 500 pounds. AFL players would have a hard time competing with Division 2 football players in America; maybe even have a hard time with good High School football teams in America.
