Walt Disney - Ferdinand The Bull - 1938

Video Description:
This Oscar-winning short tells of a bull who preferred to sit under trees and smell flowers to clashing horns with his fellow animals. As luck would have it, an untimely bee reveals Ferdinand's ferocious side via pained howls
and wild stomping. This lands him in the bull-fighting arena amidst characters based on Walt's animators with a matador reportedly modeled after Walt himself.

As a Spaniard, I'm very intrigued by this piece. Why was it ever made? I guess in 1938 Spain was somehow in the limelight in the US because of the Spanish Civil War. Somehow only... what would the guy with a Mexican sombrero have been doing in Spain? Tracking Spanishness in Anglosaxon pop culture is fascinating... They have never got it anywhere close to right. Not that they have tried too hard either... :-)

the video doesnt show Spain, it shows Mexico, I dont understand why some people from USA thinks that in spain we wear the mexicans sombreros, we have the skin so dark, and here there are womans with the name of "DAISY", because that isnt true. (I love mexicans culture, but here we arent like the video shows)

Why bothering to write english correctly? Consider this: I noticed many crappy comments to YT videos of dubbed hollywood movies, something like "crazy mexicans". It seems that for *some* USAmericans what sounds foreign must be mexican, like "there's nothing else outside our borders but Canada, but they speak the right way" *__*
