Packers are the most storied franchise in the NFL and im a niners fan and thats the truth. The Packers won so many NFL championships that nobody even compared and they have three superbowl championships. My niners have the 80s and 90s with 5 superbowls but Green Bay and Lambeau Field is so legendary. Dallas is one of the storied franchises but not the most storied team in NFL history.

Also the Montreal Canadiens are the most storied team in the NHL not the Detroit Red Wings. Red Wings have had more recent success but they only have 10 championships and Montreal has over 20. And im a Red Wings fan but i know Montreal is by far the most storied franchise

Marketing from the U.S, perspective is a huge part of storied ossmoises. Storied isn't all about success, it's also the most well-known/talkd about franchises. This is a great debate since there are so many worthy franchises that can make claim to the most storied...I see your point though, the Edmonton Oilers also come to mind with their run in the 80's

In Europe several years back after graduation, in fact the World's Cup was in America so it was quite a while back, often people asked where I was from and I would tell them America, no supprise to them I am sure, as then I only spoke English, with fair Japanese and French. When I told them I was from Texas I got some sterotyped responces. The first was in regards to horses and the oil industry, the second, "Yeah, the Dallas Cowboys!" Now this was long before the games in Europe, not too bad.

I guess you have your argument, but you can't really call any team the most storied franchise in the NFL. Every team is storied in its own right. I mean, you could go so far back into the begining of an NFL Franchise.

Well indeed I have seen it argued in the comments that the Packers have won more championships so they're more storied. Should make sense until you realize that it is the most marketed, best publicized and most hyped in anything that gets the fame. To use a music analogy, who's the King of Rock and Roll, Buddy Holly? Little Richard? Chuck Berry, Eddie Cochran? No it's someone who never wrote a song in his life or played an instrument- there you go. Dallas is the nfl's most storied team.

boognish, I don't agree with you, but,you are VERY convincing. You brought up some very good and valid points. I think either the Packers or Steelers deserve the title of most storied franchise, but now, the Cowboys are right up there on my list because of, like you said, the way they're marketed and their past. You did a great job on this vid.

I would have to say Dallas isn`t the most storied franchise, but maybe the most marketable or marketed franchises. To me, storied means "historic moments that are brought up like so many stories" for all to hear. Dallas does have a few, but in my opinion it`s Green Bay. The trophy is named after one of their coaches, so many of their games "on the frozen tundra" have been mentioned, and 12 championships helps. So does being one of the original teams of the NFL--a long and prestigious history.

And Steeler fans are nationwide and hardcore, There is nothing like Steeler nation, they take over stadiums all over the country. I notice you dont even mention the steelers in this whole video, that is unbelievable to me, but after the 70s, I can see why!
