That's my point exactly. On the day when it was announced that 3,000 troops had died since the beginning of the US occupation of Iraq, the lead story on this channel was not a testament to the sacrifices that they have made, or a re-evaluation of the war itself, but speculation about a game. That's shameful. If Americans cared half as much about foreign affairs as we do about what guys in tights do on the weekend, that we wouldn't be waiting for the 4,000th body to come home any day now.

That guy was a douche. This is the only war where the media celibrates death toll milestones. They may be worth a mention but the media is making it the lead story in most cases and also gleefully counting up to the milestones months ahead of time. Meanwhile 7000 people die each year from misreading doctors perscriptions. That death toll is seven times higher.

Theres a time for everything. News on sports, celebrities, politics, crime etc....Its not like the war gets ignored. Especially the effect it has on soldiers, volunteers & iraq civillians. I work in an airport which has a flight coming from Baghdad, Ive seen the effect of chemical bomb on a 12 yr old boy, which now has no hope for a normal future.
