Dave Clark 5- Do You Love Me

Uploaded by: thehooligan86
Video Description:
Begins with a rare video of them performing the song, then continues with photos and the studio recording. Sorry, the photos were strangely switched with some ugly ones, and I gave up on trying to fix it.

I agree- NOBODY ... ( 3 months ago by AmandaChaney)
I agree- NOBODY will ever sound 'just like The Beatles' however, DC5 was probably the biggest threat to The Beatles sucess. Their hit 'Glad All Over' recorded in 1963, knocked The Beatles out of the #1 spot in 1964 at the height of 'Beatlemania'. No easy feat. It remained #1 for 2 weeks until The Searchers 'Needles & Pins' claimed the #1 spot. But - they never gained as much fame as The Beatles, because they AREN'T The Beatles. Nobody could ever be. I can't lie though- I dig DC5.
Twist and Shout ... ( 3 months ago by CainmosniMirrored)
Twist and Shout Came first, but, not by The Beatles. It was originally done by The Top Notes, and covered by The Isley Brothers and THEN covered by The Beatles. So if you thought they copied The Beatles you are sadly mistaken. Also, Do You Love Me isn't even a DC5 original, it was done first by The Contours.

True, the Beatles ... ( 3 months ago by JDtheMusicMan)
True, the Beatles had their own sound but so did DC5. The thing they shared in common was that many of their early songs had a R&B sound, as did the Stones. DC5 had the sax too, which added a different sound than the Beatles songs. DC5 had Mike Smith who sang all or nearly all of their songs, whereas the Beatles had Paul and John and to a lesser degree George and even Ringo. DC5 had just Mike Smith singing and he really was the star of the band. It could have been "The Mike Smith Five"

Hey zymurphy, DC was not "that bad" a drummer "for the time" and his brut-ish pounding style seemed to work for them. As I remember (correct me if wrong) he not only co-wrote songs but he was their studio producer and manager as well.
