Thank you for sharing this video. I have a biology assignment where I'm researching types of disorders, and HD seems to be one of the worst. I pray they find a cure for this. Thank you again for sharing, not only has it helped on my assignment, it also opened my eyes to this disease.

I would have to disagree and say firmly that I think these two individuals deserve an abundance of praise!! They are normal people presented with an extraordinarily challenging situation. It takes bravery and a strong spirit to face every day and not curl up into a ball in the corner! You can see the determination in that little girls face to be happy despite it alland that deserves praise!

This video made my cry as my dad was recently diagnosed with HD. We knew there was something wrong as he has exhibited symptoms for years. His mother had it while his dad had Parkinsins, so we knew it was a matter of time before we knew which one he was experiencing. I have ADHD/OCD and just fear that the HD gene is in me waiting for that fateful day to 'activate'. God I hope not. I pray for my family, you and your family and only hope that I have their courage if that day comes.

Celebrating another birthday must be the most special event in the world when you have a disease like HD. You never know if you're going to be around to celebrate it again next year. :'(
I can't even imagine the frustration of the involuntary movements and mental decline. This family is so strong.

A few months ago, I found out one of my friends and co-workers had a mother with HD. About a month or so later, I found out that she too is gene positive. This video is the first time I've been able to put a face on that insidious disease and it just breaks my heart. A cure MUST be found and it WILL be!
Keep the faith and keep that hope alive. Sometimes, its all we've got - that and our love for one another. Faith, hope and love can make all the difference.

My gran has HD and is now in a home at 63 because me and my grandad could no longer look after her because all her motor skills have gone e.g. eating, she no longer can walk and you would be lucky to get a word out of her :( i couldnt help but cry when i watched this! luckerly my mum or aunt have had the test and have not got it so it stops there! and btw it's not HD that kills them, its flew that turns into newmonia that moastly kills them.. bless x

My 55 year olld sister just died of this. I too have the gene. Two of us four kids have the gene.
I decided not to have kids, and having just been though the funeral and all that, I would implore people with HD to think hard about this issue. Why pass it on?
The ruination that it has caused is like a tsunami.

I cant imagine how hard this was/is for you. I congratualate the courage you have for showing this. Its hard to deal with something like this, I know from experience. Hope youre doing ok. I was only 5 when my grandmother was diagnosed with alzheimers and cancer. I spent almost every day with her, and in the end she didnt remember me, that one thing broke me, two weeks later she died.
Hoppe the pain passes faster for you than id did for me.

Well it wasnt really just two weeks, but thats how it seemed to me. I was just soo young at the time. She was everything to me. I spent all my time with her since my parents were at work. I could never handle talking about her without crying and still cant. She was the best. Hope she is happy and smiling down at me.
