They´re not supposed to do flying kicks, wheelspin, or even a hadouken during a real kumite.
One of the dozens techniques in a full contact martial art is the great endurance, the power of will to stay fighting till the end.
Osu.
No, I do not judge the fight on the basis of the movies you mentioned.
I judge them on the experience of my own and the lot of competion I attended and watched in Kyokushin.
It is true that I have never participated in a world championship, "only" on European Championship and finished in the best 8.
So I know what does it take to kick an ushiro mawashi, how if feels to make a knockdown with it and of course have suffered such kicks as well.
So I ment that the fight was an average fight in KYOKUSHIN terms.
You are right in saying that the fighters have to have great endurance. I saw a lot of fights when a fighters started very dinamically and after a minute or two he finished with his power...
So congratulation to the fighters, I do not want to critise their result.
But let me have my own opinion!
OSU
I thought you were saying something like they don´t deserve the title gave to them.
Sorry if my comment sounded a little sharpen,it´s not my intention as well.
Osu!!
I think shotokan is not full contact, right???
If I'm right, then you can't compare these two totally diffrent karate styles.
Even though it went independent, K-1 is still strongly influenced by the seidokaikan leaders.
The Seidokaikan founder broke out of kyokushin in 1979, together with the founder of ashihara karate, but after only a few months they parted ways and seidokaikan was born.
They do it side-by-side with the traditional knockdown rule competitions.
But they only started last year, so its still new.
Others do kickboxing style training to get the facepunches. Like the IKO1 organization headed by Matsui, who has its Ichigeki kickboxing gym/tournaments .
