As a college student, you're grammer leaves much to be desired. "Important" however is a matter of personal value. The control the citizens "allow" the government to have to govern us is often superceded by the very officials elected into office. The speed limits, zoning, castle law, taxation and Imminent Domain are just a few examples. You have to realize that every new law affetcs if not yourself, then your neighbor or friend. Always campaign to retain your freedoms.
