I know Bloc Party are being all like courageous with the whole pushing the envelope of music by taking a whole new look on their music but why can't they continue making classics like this. I can't see why they had to go and do stuff like mercury cause i preferred them when they did this style of music, anyone else in the same boat?

yeap. you know frankly, mercury was thrash.. well yeah i knw i may get the negatives.. but songs like two more years, tulips, i still remember were SO much nicer. in fact GREAT. man... flux was only okay for me.. then came mercury..ohgosh

Now tulips is a brillant song along with the many others bloc party have, just cause mercury isnt another helicoptor doesnt mean bloc party are gone to shit, no way!! i think mercury is a good song not their best but that doesnt mean the whole album will be more of the same techno style rock, but even if it is if u were half a true bloc party fan you wouldnt mind!

The new album I think will be a mixture of the old and new bloc party. Look at Mercury and also look at the new song Trojan Horse which is more like Silent Alarm.

You're exactly right, the new album is much better than A Weekend in the City and combines a very mature sound with Silent Alarm. My favorite songs on the new album are Ares, Signs, and Zepherus.
