Is he German? is he in Germany?
If he is, he should walk over to the French Border with that STAHLHELM and MG-42.
Watch the French get a heart attack
that would be a really stupid joke to play on the French, but just to see the looks on their faces would be worth it.

Something is not right.
This weapon uses a gas trap to increase the rate of fire.
If there is no bullet passing through the gas trap (i.e. if this were firing blanks), wouldn't the only thing contributing to the action, be the blow black action, which would produce a rate of fire of less than 500 rpm?
How is the gun still firing so rapidly, if it is firing blanks?

Because a special two piece barrel is being used that traps the recoil gases to allow the high rate of fire.
Thanks Volkssturm45

Film companies may pay that much for 7.62 blanks, because they always get ripped off. However we only pay about 20 pence a blank and the more you buy the cheaper it gets!

The German army (the Bundeswehr) uses a .308 caliber version called MG 3, and in former Yugoslavia they were still in use with their original 7,92mm Mauser caliber. So, yeah, they are still in use.

Rest assured this is an MG42 firing blanks, the reason it sounds a little slower regarding the cyclic rate of fire is because of the different buffer fitted and blank-fire adapter.
