well i think 'emo' is derived from 'emotive hardcore' which is supposedly a sub genre of hardcore punk but i still agree people shouldn't label others emo, purely based on the way they look and AFI's music certainly isn't 'emo' if people don't know what it means look it up on wikipedia im sure that clarify what it really is. real emo music started in the late eighties in america somewhere spread a little and died out mid nineties.

Sad, because you all look the same by being "different". Now, humans conform, animals conform, and organisms conform. Your statement is a fallacy. There is such thing as being an individual. Although you say you look down *amongst* conformists, by which you mean emo (and the emo band followers), in turn saying they conform meaning the true emo bands are conformists...admit it. Everyone conforms one way or another. Don't be ashamed of it. This emo fad/trend will die out soon.
