I have always found it rather obscure that many would take pride in the piece of land which they were born upon by coincidence and the general ideology of the culture primarily based on this land. Surely these feelings of pride result in greater detriment than benefit to the person feeling them and the human population thus making them irrational? Perhaps I am wrong but these are deductions made based on my personal study and observation of the subject in both general and historical contexts.

your argument is not completely right, a lot of the world hates us for stupid reasons, either political or religious, nonetheless some still keep relations with us, and another thing is that those immigrants STILL make an effort to live here. MysteriousDoor has a point, and not all of us are bad people, why should the masses pay for the mistakes of others? And why do other countries adopt our styles and routines, etc.?
