Fact 2- I use a Linux Live CD over 95% of the time for Windows system failures
Fact 3- % of problems I've dealt with based on Windows OS: 100%
Fact 4- % of problems I've dealt with based on Linux OS: 0%
As I said before, "proprietary" only means two things: It COSTS, and it's LIMITED.
He just gets lots of money so he fools himself into believing what MS wants him to. It's the most primitive form of brainwashing.
If Linux is so great, how come I spent 3 days trying to get my Ubuntu install to work with my wireless card? I finally got it to work, but the connection was so degraded it wasn't worth it.
Probably because you had a VERY crappy wireless card whose developers only cared about writing drivers for Windows and that didn't make through the Linux developers' priority queue.
What card was it? Did it support AES?
1. Tell me that my wireless card is "VERY Crappy", even though it connects me to the net like every other card out there...
2. Make an excuse for why I had to spend 3 days trying to find an (unacceptable )solution.
That, in a nutshell, is why Linux is only useable for a very small fraction of the population. You cannot expect every person to be Linus Torvalds.
With that being said, you cannot honestly put down ALL Linux for ONE problem. That would be comparable to scrapping Windows because it wouldn't support your sound card.
It's amazing for the stuff I want to do.
