Just to be accurate, that was 4 years. There was a break between Auburn and Arkansas when USC didn't play an SEC team. I've heard that, after getting beaten twice, Auburn backed out of the home-and-home, but I don't know how true that is. Kind of ironic that the one year they didn't have to face USC in the regular season they complain about not getting to play them in the title game.

no they were biased and mad because the system didn't work for them as it should have.
Unfortunately the BCS system does not reward people for loosing... sometimes you get lucky as we sure did with WVU and Mo loosing.
but for USC those teams loosing wouldn't have mattered anyway would it?

What are you talking about? I'm talking about the 2003 season. SC was ranked #1 in both polls. What "they" were biased?
"..BCS system does not reward people for loosing..." I don't think the BCS cares about "loosing", because I imagine there are lots of loose men in college FB. But the BCS did reward people for "losing." Using Miles logic, USC was the only team that was undefeated in regulation. USC's ONLY loss was in 3OT. LSU and OU had bigger losses and went to the title.

Try to follow along. I am talking about the 03/04 season. You responded to me. USC was ranked #1 in both the AP and Coaches poll at the end of the regular season. And USC was ranked #1 in the AP after the bowl games. And some coaches, despite being obligated to vote for the BCS title winner, STILL voted for USC. Got it????????

Pay attention, Bettty. YOU'RE the one who played the "if" card. NOT ME. Yes, if a QB is throwing with a broken finger, he is going to throw interceptions. He should have been taken out of the game. Literally NO QB, would have been better than an injured one. And it isn't just the Pac-10. Look at Texas without VY, Floriduh w/o Tebow, Oklahoma w/o Bradford and WVU w/o White.

Try to focus. YOU responded to my post about USC winning the AP title for 03/04 by saying the BCS doesn't reward people for "loosing". In 03/04 LSU LOST one game by 12 points. Oklahoma LOST one game by 28 points. USC lost by 3 points....in 3OT! According to the logic of Les Miles, USC was the only UNDEFEATED team in the regular season of 03. So, clearly, the BCS DID reward teams for "loosing" over a team that didn't. Everyone know USC was the best in 03/04, hence the split NC.

You can't really play the connect-th-dots game. But I think it is pretty obvious that USC would have beaten Ohio State in the title game, which is not to say USC is going to have a cake walk with them next season. OSU is going to have a chip on their shoulder and a lot to prove. USC better not take them lightly.
As for this season, though, I think most people agree that a USC-LSU or USC-GA game would have been a better match-up in the title game.

I loved the video, but can't believe the TD pass from Mike Williams to Matt Leinart, in the Rose Bowl, isn't among the top ten plays of the season. I thought that play was awesome!

i actually think, as good as this team was, that the 2005 version was even better (when healthy) and that if texas (hook 'em horns!!!) had not beaten them that they would be considered one of the five greatest, and rightly so.I still think that if you put the 05 texas and sc teams against any of the greats, they would beat most teams to ever play.its like they both had forgotten how to lose in that rose bowl, and vince young barely stepped up higher than the men of troy. both great teams though

heyhey no problem, most football fans in general that come on here are ridiculous, and to say that VY trampled on USC takes away from the greatness of the game. I mean, he DID trample on them but they trampled on us too until somebody had to win and he took it just half a step higher than they did. so yeah, very classy of you also to respond without a homer statement. youtube seems to be full of football convos that turn into pissing matches. anyway good luck to your team next season ;)

Good luck to the Horns, too. I think Mack Brown said it best: "Nobody could stop anybody." Unfortunately, when it came down to the wire, however, Texas could stop White and USC couldn't stop VY. I don't blame Carroll for the 4th down call.....I just wish he had both White and Bush in the play, to confuse the defense. It was one of the best games, ever, though!

thanks a bunch, maybe our teams will meet again. wouldnt that be buhdass! and yeah i agree with carroll too, but i kinda liked the fact that bush wasnt in just because it was kind of like he was sayin "hey, everyone here knows what we're gonna do, you know it we know it now lets see if you can stop it." i thought it was one of the most famous big game ballsy calls since osbourne went for two in 84 against miami and neither paid off but both were classic.and yeah, best game EVER in my opinion

Good post but this team was better than the 2005 team. Two all americans on the D line and two all american linebackers did not return from that team. That defense was incredible. Neither USC or Texas was better than the 95 Nebraska team.

regarding the 95 nebraska team i wont agree or disagree with you simply cause we cant ever see that game.i will say ive always thought the only two teams that COULD beat 95 nebraska would be 05 texas and 05 usc.now before people jump me about this i say it cause these two teams could keep up with nebraskas offense AND the deciding factor for me is the leadership each team had in matt leinart and vince young who could both overcome adversity.(this is why 01 miami is excluded) thanks for postin ;)
