I just finished watching this movie. It's really hard to believe that he is gone.. I would have never guessed him to be the type to do drugs. He was an unbelievably talented actor. And he seemed like a really nice and funny guy. R.I.P. River it's impossible to forget you. The saying the good die young must be true.

You know whats really ironic and iconic to me. At the very end of the movie. The writer talks about Chris(River Phoenix) being killed in a knife fight in a bar. To me it makes the ending that much sadder, knowing what River's fate is.

I don't mean to offend you. But your comment bothers me. It's not really fair to say no one was there to take care of him. You can't know that. His brother was there when he died. Have you heard the 911 call? He was so loved. You can hear how scared Joaquin was. River was old enough to make his own choices. Sadly those are the choices that ended his life. I do respect River. It IS tragic that he died. But to say no one was there for him, you are wrong.

Yes your right. It was unfair of me to say that, I have recently heard the 911 call and there was a lot of heart in it. He was obiously very loved. I appolagise for making that unfair assumption.
