A big influence on the Clash sound was the great Mikey Dread(who was black)and the group made some cool reggae music with the help of Master Dread(All his own albums are superb too)!
Joe tried to break down racial barriers with concerts and his music in general,but it was fooking tough as he was going against the establishment/system.

White Riot actually was written about how whites should rise up and rebel against the government like the blacks had already done in the UK. He first thought up the song by watching West Indians rebel in the UK.
