why crown didn't cheers for Mary why they don't scream Mary,Mary like steffi ,Stefii in 1999 Steffi was a French player, or Mary is ??? It's sad because parisian crown can't appreciate Mary's succses, and know she's a legend because France haven't player which colud won RG !!!

Actually the crowd was constantly chanting "Mary Mary' during the matches against Seles and Hingis. EVen during the first set of the final, there were several chants of Mahrie Mahrie.. I guess in the closing stages even the crowd was a little nervous.

yeah french crown is very often very nervous (look at Graf-Hingis final, when Martina destroyed ownself with big help from the crown)

I wished Mary could have won more slams. When I first started watching tennis around 2001 or 2002 or so, all I knew was that she used to be good and could get pushed around easily by the big names. In 2005, it was cool to see her rise back up the rankings. She has quite a bit of power and she takes the ball early. I like her style of playing. It'd be interesting to see where she'd be in the rankings if she didn't tear her ACL.
