they stopped this event because camel did not want it more so land rover decided to do a new thing, in 1999 they went to spain with a bunch of silver defenders td5 to present a new challenge that eventually became the g4 of today

The camel trophy was great, and a leyend. But now we have diferent types of competitions, check out the Fun Race 4x4 in Venezuela search in you tube you have some great video and some regular ones, these copetition is really great off course its not the camel trophy but is exelente.

VW use TDI as Turbo Diesel Injection. With Land Rover is was Turbo Direct Injection as we didn't use a commonrail system but an injector for each cylinder, more power, plus, VW don't own the phrase "TDI" you arseweasel.

lowlifehippie, thats not correct. CAMEL wanted to change the Trophy, with more sport and lifestyle activities, reducing 4x4 a lot, so Land Rover decided to finisch, not CAMEL.
Take a look at the last one 1998, only Freelanders and a lot of new stuff.
