The event was organized by the Berlin student job office "Heinzelmaennchen" which is preparing students and others who want to work over the Christmas Season as Santas and angels.
Around 200 Santas gathered in Berlin's Friedrichstadt Palace to learn their new skills by taking part in a staged role play, that shows them how to act properly when they turn into Santa Claus and how to improve the act of exchanging gifts.
The Berlin service means that families can order a Santa to pay a visit to their home.
The organizer of the event, Hu-Ping Chen, warned that people looking to have a Santa visit should book up early as he expected demand to be high.
The Santa Claus home visit service has been running in Berlin since 1949.
