This is a video that show you how to get Zodiac Spear in Henne Mines.
You will need alot of patience, and if you dont see a chest you must "soft reset"
I have got 3 Zodiac Spears from Henne Mines.
The chance to get Zodiac Spear in Henne Mines is 1/1000.
Note: I was lucky when I got the z-spear in this video. It "only" took me 11 hours. I got the 2nd z-spear from Henne Mines in 27 hours and the third in about 30 hours.
To make 1,000 attempts takes about 25 hours.
YOU CAN STILL GET THIS SPEAR IF YOU HAVE OPENED THE FORBIDDEN CHESTS, AND YOU CAN GET THIS SPEAR EVEN IF YOU ALREADY GOT ONE IN NECROHOL, THE ONLY THING YOU NEED IS DIAMOND ARMLET AND 10 ESPERS.
If the gate is not opened, you need 10 espers, and have finnished the Mindflayer hunt. Then go talk to the Geomancer in Jahara.

I think I can speak for a lot of people that we hate Square Enix for making certain chests "unopenable" to get Zodiac Spear in the most random places of all (Nechrohal)..It's like they kill us for not following GameFAQs. I had to restart my game so I can get the Zodiac Spear in Nechrol. Glad I didn't do this XD...it's a stick up ur butt eh? I rather go dance with a chick for 11 hours lol

Right after you defeated 12 marks or more.
You can get the bubble spell in Rabanastre-Muuthru Bazaar). The Clan Provisioner guy will sell it to you.
* PS : Your clan rank must be at least HEADHUNTER. Moppet--->Forget What was it--->Vanguard----> Headhunter.

I tried. It takes you about 2min for one attempt(go there and load). In one hour you can do 30-35 attempts. If you play 11 hours your chance is 1:3 or in other words 25%. After 44 hours and 1000 attempts your chance is 50:50. I got one after 45 hours. I played every day half an hour and after three month I've got it.But real FF players know that this isn't the worst chance in all FF games. In FF 4 your chance to get the best armour is just 1:4096.(Even I haven't got one)

i just got it =00 =00 ........took me 7 hours i guess i was very lucky, but those 7 hours were totally continuesly,no stoping i got it at the 25 time id open chest...=) hints: positve thinking... patience...determination..and lot of luk =) i made it with lvl 95 penelo keep trying =) sometimes you get really stressed ... because sometimes treasure wont appear in like many attempts(happened to me) during 35 attempts no treasure...suks...thats aout an hour with no treasure appearing =) gl
