I lived in this city between 1988 and 1990. I loved it. That time you still had the escudo. Nice relaxed people, wonderful views and great food.
Still remember the sad and very hot day in august 1988 with the fire in Grandela " Chaido". That day it was about 35 degrees, so summerhot. What struck me that sad day was a kind of unity among the people which was great. Still love Portugal and it is always good coming back.
