i dont know what it is but often many bands find it hard to live up ti the v high standard of santana and these collaborations dont seem to work. of course there are exceptions eg "smooth" maria maria etc but still carlos outshines them all

It's not one of The Calling's songs. The Kroeger version's actually the original because as I understand it he at least wrote all the lyrics, I'm not sure about instrumentals. Alex started playing it live at shows but apparently Arms wasn't all that enthusiastic about learning this song :P.

Yeah, as far as I know, he was working on the Nickelback album by the time they wanted to get the single out. Chad wanted to fully concentrate on the Nickelback album, so he recommended Alex for the single.
PS: Great choice in my opinion, though I prefer the Chad-version^^
