Acoustic Bass is Great, However they can be quiet. They dont seem usually to be as loud as Acoustic Guitars unless its a Really top range Bass. You might need one of those mini amps that connect to your belt?

Playing it really isn't that difficult (speaking from experience; I own one.)
But to be able to solo and play the higher notes as well as he does, it takes a lot of time studying the instrument, and slap n' pop technique takes a very long time to master because it's done completely differently on an upright (much more difficult).

Yes, it is acoustic, but 'acoustic bass' implies to most a bass guiatr which is acoustic. Not an 'upright bass/double bass'.
So yes, it is a bass and it is acoustic. It is not really an acoustic bass by terms of general conversation and consensus.
