This guy's pretty fast, but I actually think he's unremarkable in comparison to Wooten.
But to be able to solo and play the higher notes as well as he does, it takes a lot of time studying the instrument, and slap n' pop technique takes a very long time to master because it's done completely differently on an upright (much more difficult).
Marcus Miller too?
I'm a big fan of Wooten but his forte is more technical as opposed to 'feel' and expression.
To say "this guy is pretty fast" shows your ignorance.. if you think playing is all about speed.
So yes, it is a bass and it is acoustic. It is not really an acoustic bass by terms of general conversation and consensus.
I guess you are being a bit of a pedant.
